Passion for Prints Consultancy Services

Overview of the product design part of the overall product development process. There are six core services D2M offers that takes the agreed concept and develops it into a detailed design ready for prototyping. Watch the video and click on the links below to understand what happens during this phase of development.

Overview

Product design is all about creating products that people will want to use. But before you can design a product, you must develop a concept.
D2M’s creative team of experienced designers will often work together (formally and informally) during this stage to ensure that many different ideas are considered giving a better chance of proposing a strong concept to then further develop.

Concept development is the process of fleshing out and expanding on initial ideas. It usually begins with a rough sketch, sketch model or early-stage computer-aided design. The initial sketch is refined and improved, and this process often involves a lot of trial and error.

The concept development stage is important because it allows designers to identify potential problems with the product and improve its features and functions. It also helps ensure that the final product will meet the customer’s or client’s needs.

An idea is only as good as its purpose and use, so it’s essential to check its commercial viability. Once the prototype is deemed feasible and marketable, it is finally ready for mass production.

At D2M, we have developed a range of products over the last decade. Our team is highly experienced in designing innovative products that sell. These include textile and non-textile products. For more information about textile product development, see this page.
